Has anyone used or played a Viscount digital piano?

I’m on the verge on buying a digital piano for my 7 year old son and his school is an affiliate or promoting the Viscount Allegro and Andante. I’ve never heard of this brand but was told that they are based in Italy and have been around for years. How does this compare to the more popular brands like Yamaha and Roland.

Indeed Viscount has been around for years and years. Their primary business is digital church organs http://www.viscount.it/classicorgans/

From the "news" section of their website.
"Viscount International is proud to annouce the cooperation with Amason, a Pearl River company, for the developing and production of the new high quality digital pianos. In the picture, Mr. Mauro Galanti, president of Viscount and Mr .Huang Wei Lin, president of Pearl River."

Looks like their sourcing their pianos from China now.

Choosing a piano is tricky, but go with the brand that you trust. Considering Yamaha is Chinese, and it’s based from there- they may be a little more reputable than someone who used to be in Italy and then outsourced. If you’re just starting, why don’t you go with a cheaper priced one until you find out if you really want to stick with piano?
