Website support – adsense, 1&1 affiliate or Paypal donations?

I’m in the process of starting a monthly online music magazine, and was wondering how to support it. I don’t need to get rich from it, but paying for its own hosting and equipment would be nice.
I’ve read about Google Adsense, 1&1 affiliate program and have seen Paypal buttons on other sites – "Click here to keep us running" . Any thoughts on which works best? Can they be used together? Are there any requirements/obligations/legal implications to using any or all of them ; eg: donations from Paypal, do I need to be a registered charity?
Finally what’s worked for you?
Thanks for your help!
1&1 also has the Spreadshirt marketing and of course there is the old fashioned sponsership – again plusses and minuses of each is appreciated.

You can use multiple affiliate programs at the same time (as long as you don’t use them INSTEAD of site content).

In addition to Adsense, check out some of the affiliate marketing sites and sign up as a publisher. Then you can use ads or links to multiple businesses, even as links in your text.

If you sign up at Commission Junction, ClickBank, ShareASale, or others, you can pick which products or vendors to promote on your site and choose the ones you like best or that offer the best commissions. You can also sign up as an Amazon affiliate. Even eBay now offers an affiliate partnership.

You don’t have to choose just one option, you can choose a combination. You don’t have to be a charity to allow people to donate money to you, but if you’re not a registered non-profit, the money is taxable.

If you’re planning or review music or equipment, you can use affiliate link to the specific item in your article or blog post.

    Hello,
Now Iam using Google Adsnese and it really works with me it’s revenue is amazing.

and I’ll tell you my best stratigies with Google Adsense here you are:

*-First off, Traffic Generation: Since the revenue generation from Google AdSense Ads is based on the CPC
(cost-per-click) and CPM (cost per thousand impressions) basis, the more traffic your have to your website the better are your chances of getting good revenue through AdSense. Most webmasters are fully aware of this fact and employ various tricks to generate high traffic to their website. All such tricks fall under the category of ‘Traffic Generation’.

*-Second, Converting traffic to Clicks: Clicks seem to be the best way of increasing AdSense revenue. Prompting the website visitors to click on the AdSense Ads can make a big difference in terms of the AdSense revenue that you earn. A good copy can make the website visitors more confident about your website and hence encourage them to go ahead click the AdSense Ads. Besides the website copy, the website owners apply several other means for getting more clicks. These form the ‘Converting traffic to Clicks’ category.

*-Finally, Attracting High Value AdSense Ads: Besides the traffic to your website, your AdSense revenue is also based on the value of the AdSense Ads. So, some Ads produce more revenue when they are clicked/displayed than the others. This is determined using the Adwords system. Some webmasters develop websites primarily for AdSense revenue generation. These webmasters choose the website topic and orient the content in such a way so as to attract high value AdSense Ads. These tricks form the “Attracting High Value AdSense Ads” category.
